Despite the increasing dangers involved in the field of human services, most workers have little understanding of the risks they face and little or no training in how to cope with them.  Yet such skills can be taught, and human service agencies can become safe as well as satisfying places to work.

The working SAFE, working SMART program is a state-of-the-art Five-Unit safety program that meets OSHA Guidelines (3148) and could save an agency a tremendous amount in insurance fees.  Developed under a federal grant from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) working SAFE, working SMART provides a comprehensive approach to human service worker safety.  It can be used for all levels of agency staff and can be delivered in five 1/2 day segments or as a full 2 1/2 day program.

This program is easy to use and effective in dealing with all aspects of office and field safety, interviewing, and post-incident situations!  The videos are contemporary and portray real-life situations.  The primary author and development staff are all experienced social workers who have dealt with safety issues for the past 15 - 20 years in many locations around the US and abroad.

An agency can PREVIEW THE PROGRAM FOR 30-DAYS before deciding to purchase the license.  A license gives the purchasing agency complete rights to reproduce the Participant’s Manuals forever and use of the video-based curriculum as often as needed.  Each training package contains an easy-to-use Trainer’s Manual, a Participant’s Manual in three different formats (glossy finished, copy-ready text and a CD-Rom containing the complete text in Adobe Reader(TM) for ease of reproduction), a complete video DVD and a licensing agreement.  All materials are enclosed in a vinyl storage package.
